Four masters percussionists are gathered for this concert of taiko (Japanese drum). WATANABE Kaoru (Kodo, Watanabe Taiko), KAMEDA Shoji (One Together), Art LEE
(Ondekoza, Wadaiko Tokara) and Grete MOORTGAT (Feniks Taiko) mix taiko traditional and shinobue (flute) in the rhythms of the jazz and in the percussions of all the corners of the world, in a rich and vibrating
sound pallet of energy. To produce the “good sound” with the taiko asks a requiring physical work, an anchoring and a stability of the pond which allows to reach the flexibility, the internal silence
and the profound joy which gets this practice. He can be so considered as music, martial art, meditation or dance. “East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet”. This verse of Rudyard KIPLING is pulled by a poem which says that where the strong people meet, they make him on an equal footing and all the borders disappear then. |
